Shaanxi Liangpi, gan3 mian4 pi2 (擀面皮in Chinese) originated from the Tang Dynasty (618 A.D.-907 A.D.), and the primary name of gan3 mian4 pi2 was yu4 jing1 fen3 (the Chinese character, yu4, 御 means anything related to imperial).
